Roofing
Leadwork and guttering
The junctions and edges where roofs actually fail: flashings, valleys, gutters, fascias and soffits, detailed properly.
Roofs leak at the joins
Very few roofs leak through the middle of a tile. They leak where the roof meets something else: a chimney, a wall, a valley, a dormer cheek. Those junctions are leadwork, and leadwork needs a skilled hand, not a tube of sealant. If you have a leak and are not sure where it is coming from, start with roof repairs.

Questions
Common questions
Because nothing else matches it for lifespan at the junctions where roofs leak most. Properly sized and fixed lead accommodates thermal movement and lasts for decades. Mortar fillets and sealant at those junctions are a short-term repair pretending to be a permanent one.
It is the thickness of the sheet. Code 4 suits most domestic flashings and soakers, code 5 is used for valleys, larger bays and areas taking more movement or wear. Using the correct code for the location matters more than using more lead.
Often, but not always. It can equally be a fall running the wrong way, sagging brackets, an undersized downpipe, or a joint that has opened. Overflow that runs down a wall causes penetrating damp, so it is worth diagnosing rather than repeatedly clearing.
Yes. On period properties, and in conservation areas where the appearance is controlled, we can repair or replace cast iron, or fit aluminium alternatives that keep the profile while reducing the maintenance.
