Flooring
Timber, laminate and tile, laid on a substrate that has been prepared properly rather than covered over.
Floor fitting, from the screed to the finished surface
Most flooring complaints (movement, creaking, lifting joints, cracked tiles) trace back to the substrate rather than the material on top. A floor laid over a deck that is not level, not dry, or not stiff enough will fail regardless of what was spent on the finish.
We prepare first: check levels, strengthen or replace joists and boards where needed, deal with moisture, and only then lay the finish. Where a floor has been affected by a leak from above, we fix the cause before laying anything new.
What the work covers
- Subfloor inspection, levelling and preparation
- Joist and floorboard repair or replacement
- Moisture control and damp-proof membranes
- Engineered and solid timber flooring
- Laminate and luxury vinyl
- Floor tiling, including large format
- Skirting, thresholds and trims
If a floor has been damaged by water from a roof or a bathroom above, the source gets fixed first. Laying a new finish over an active leak simply repeats the failure.

Common questions
Yes. We provide advice on the right flooring for your space as part of your quotation.
Yes. Creaking is normally movement between boards and joists, or a joist that has dropped. It is a preparation problem rather than a flooring problem, which is why laying a new finish over it rarely helps.
Tile, laminate, luxury vinyl, engineered wood and solid wood. We also install underfloor heating, both electric and wet (water-based) systems.
Yes. Boarding a loft makes it usable, giving you more practical, accessible storage in the property. If you want a habitable room up there, that is a loft conversion.
Yes, with the right build-up and material. Not every timber or tile is suitable, and the substrate detail matters more than usual, so it is confirmed at survey.
